

Double Recovery from Severn River
On February 10, 2016, volunteers from the Charles County Dive Rescue Company 13 responded to the request from the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) to assist with the search for two missing subjects lost on the Severn River in Anne Arundel County on January 19, 2016. Upon arrival of Dive Boat 13 and Rescue Boat 13, Chief 13 met with NRP to establish a working plan and gather historical information on the time-line and prevailing conditions at the time of the incident.


Dive Team Volunteers Attend Colonial Beach Parade
The Charles County Dive Rescue Volunteers attended the 64th Annual Potomac Rive Festival Fire/Rescue Parade hosted by the Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department this past Friday night. The members spend the week prior preparing the apparatus for the parade. We had 2 entries, Rescue Boat 13 in the Fire Boat category and MSU 13 in the Support Vehicle Category. The company came home with first place in both the Fire Boat category and the Support Vehicle category. Congratulatio


Single Vehicle into the Water
Around noon on Friday, June 5, 2015, units were alerted for the single vehicle into the water off of Western Parkway. Units arrived to find a single vehcle, upright, in a water retention pond. The uninjured personel in the vehicle were assisted out and realeased. CCDR remained on scene to assist with the removal of the vehicle. #photo


CCDR Assist Montgomery County
On April 19th, members from Charles County Dive Rescue assisted Montgomery County Police in a multi-jurisdictional search for 2 missing children. Members operated side scan sonar from both Dive Boat 13 and Dive Boat 13A. #photo


Department Takes Delivery of Rescue Boat
Earlier this month, CCDR headed to Portsmouth, Rhode Island to receive delivery of the departments new rescue boat. The rescue boat is 10 meters long with twin 300 Mercury motors. The boat will be used primarily to support dive operations, sonar operations, and rescue operations. #photo


Department Locates and Recovers Stolen Car
While out drilling on our sonar system, members of the Charles County Dive Rescue team discoverd a vehicle in the river. It was determined to come back a week later to recover the vehicle. Upon returning, the target was reconfirmed with sonar. Once the target was confimred, divers were snet to hook chains to the car which were then hooked to a tow truck which pulled the vehicle out.
