Charter Board Survey - Say NO to Creating a Paid Career Fire Service in Charles County!

The Volunteer Fire & EMS Associations are responsible for coordination of personnel, resources and equipment of all independent volunteer departments.

Firefighting - 14 Fire Stations across the County respond to a variety of calls: Structure Fires, Brush Fires, Medical Emergencies, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Fire Alarms, and Non-Emergency Service Calls.

Special Operations - FEMA Type 2 Certified Technical Response Teams respond to Structural Collapse, Trench Collapse, Swift Water Rescues, Confined Space Rescues and High/Low Angle Rescues.

Underwater Dive Rescue - Underwater emergencies and recoveries.

Emergency Medical Services - 15 EMS Stations staffed in coordination with Charles County DES and also provide:

ALS Training & Scholarships for volunteer paramedics.
Medical Standby assistance to Charles County Public Schools, Charles County Sheriff's Office and public events.
